Little Pyg - Interior

Little Pyg

Dublin’s Priceless Pizza Place

Even though my Weekend in Dublin was chock full of coffee spots to choose from, it’s important to remember that coffee isn’t always meant to be for the morning. Sometimes, coffee comes in the flirtier form of a cocktail. Little Pyg, located in Powerscourt Townhouse Centre on South William Street,  prides itself on this, So without further ado, welcome to Conquest for Coffee’s first delve into the After Dark!

The coffee

First things first, let’s start with the star of the show, the little pygtails, and of course we went for the espresso martini. However, it was no ordinary espresso martini, but a flat white martini. Deliciously crafted with the usual accoutrement (vodka, espresso, coffee liqueur etc.), this gem included a splash of Baileys. Only the proper way to have an Irish coffee cocktail if you ask me. It just tasted so silky and smooth. The only downside is that it was gone too soon! Not to worry though, these pygtails are 2 for 20€ every day of the week, and that is a deal you can’t pass on.

The food

Something else you can’t pass on here is the food. Yes, there is certainly a variety to choose from, but if you ask me, you should set your sight on the pizzas. After all, these pies have helped Little Pyg soar to No.1 Pizza in Europe’s Michelin Guide. From my experience, I can see why.  I went for the Italian Job, which was a spicy little number topped with Napoli Salami and Pepperoni. Worth every penny (or should I say, cent).

The vibe

With regard to the vibes at Little Pyg, the Huns among you are sure to enjoy them. What’s not to enjoy about sipping a cocktail within a starlit garden? Whatever the weather. you’re sure to be protected by Powerscourt’s glass roof to shield you on the rainy nights.

The verdict

To wrap this first After Dark segment up, Little Pyg is the ideal boujee spot to enjoy an evening in the centre of Dublin. With its plethora of pizzas and many martinis to enjoy, this hidden restaurant a must within the Irish capital.
