Closeup of the Saint Laurent Coffee

Saint Laurent Café

An icon in the fashion capital

In the past few weeks, I’ve been able to travel a little, and, of course, it has meant I can try out other cafés apart from those in Madrid. Paris has an assortment of places to grab a coffee and a croissant. However, it takes a unique place to stand out amongst the rest. This Saint Laurent designer café is for sure one of them!

Paris has always been one of the places I’ve always wanted to visit. The city of love is one of the designer fashion capitals of the world and somewhere that I’ve been attracted to for as long as I can remember. I went for a weekend away with a close, slightly fashion-obsessed, friend who was determined to see the exclusive collection in the Paris Saint Laurent store. What we didn’t expect, however, is that there would be a café next door!

Located close to the Tuileries Gardens and situated within the fashion district, the recently opened Saint Laurent Café is definitely a fashionable feature that makes this brand stand out among the rest. It recently opened its doors a couple of months ago to celebrate their latest fashion week show and now remains open until further notice. Therefore, it may just be a thought to stop by if you want to live the high life whilst you shop to you drop, or if you want a souvenir because you can’t afford anything else around here, just like me! Nevertheless, this café is a must for anyone who passes by.

The coffee

You would like to hope the coffee lives up to the big name. Luckily for this place, it does just that! The coffee is created through what has been described as ‘revolutionary espresso machines’ that would only create the highest quality coffees. The drinks menu of this place is quite small, so don’t expect much variety. You will receive a coffee of your choice with the highest quality Colombian blend. It’s just the best flavour for a shopaholic needing a bit of a rest.

The food

As with the drinks menu, the food menu is also quite minimal. With just a handful of traditional Parisien pastries to offer, their selection isn’t the biggest. However, you need to know that only the best quality foods will be served here to take away – nowhere for you to sit in I’m afraid. When we stopped by, my friend decided to opt for a croissant to start her day. Even though the price is a little higher than any other coffee shops in the area, I guess it’s definitely worth the price for the experience. You gotta do it at at least once whilst you’re here!

The aesthetic

The Saint Laurent Café’s aesthetic continues perfectly from the boutique next door. It is perfectly minimal with matte black everything. From the counter tops, to the utensils, to the Saint Laurent Radio playing the morning radio, it has all grounds covered. I must say, I lived for the aesthetic because it makes it feel so chic. You really do feel like you’re somewhere where a brand has put thought into every last detail. Indeed, if they put so much thought and detail into every fashion week show, you know they will do just the same here!

The verdict

In a nutshell, this Parisien chic coffee shop is the perfect place for a fashion lover to stop and enjoy a good break from breaking the bank. The simple but effective interiors tie in well with the simple but powerful taste of the high quality coffee blends. If you are looking for somewhere to get something fast during your shopping spree (or wannabe shopping spree), this is definitely the place to go!
